Kelso
Kelso was founded in 1847 along the banks of the Cowlitz River by Peter W. Crawford, a Scottish surveyor. Peter Crawford named the town after his home town of Kelso, Scotland. Kelso
became an incorporated city in 1889 and today holds the population of 11,925. Kelso boasts with funding assistance from the Kelso Rotary Club the creation of Kelso Skate Park, completed in October of 2009. The community offers miles of walking, jogging, and biking trails, hiking, skateboard park, fishing, boating, hunting, golfing, motorcycle racing, and sporting events.

KELSO SENIOR CENTER ASSOCIATION– is located on 8th Avenue at Catlin Hall. The Senior Centers gives seniors a chance to enhance their life experiences by offering services, activities, and a lifelong connection with peers.

COWEEMAN RIVER TRAIL– This 4 mile gravel trail starts at Talley Way north of SR 432 to Corduroy Road. It’s great for walking, running, and biking.

COWLITZ DIKE TRAIL– This 2.5 mile aspahlt trail is located from Cowlitz Gardens Road to west of S. Pacific Avenue. The Cowlitz Dike Trail is accessible for skating, wheelchairs, walking, biking, and running.
