HWY 504 Corridor
What was first known as Lewis River Road in 1909 is now called the 504 corridor. The 504 was established during the 1964 highway renumbering.This State Route is a rural area that runs between the Interstate 5 junction and Johnston Ridge. The 504 corridor runs through Castle Rock, Toutle, Silver Lake, and Coldwater Lake. The State Route is popularly known for Mount St. Helens and Seaquest State Park. The 504 corridor is a gateway to natural and scenic resources. Community offers miles upon miles of walking, jogging, and hiking trails, hunting, fishing, and boating, and camping opportunities.

KID VALLEY CAMPGROUND– is located along Spirit Lake Highway in a quiet forest area. Kid Valley Campground offers hiking opportunities, biking, and site seeing. There is several nearby activities for winter and summer time! Kid Valley Campground showcases an A-Frame where a visitor can walk through a home inundated by mud flows.

CASTLE LAKE VIEWPOINT- is located East on State Route 504 for 40 miles. The Castle Lake Viewpoint provides beautiful views of Mount St. Helen’s and landslide debris deposits from the eruption of Mount St. Helen’s in 1980. Castle Lake Viewpoint gives visitors a beautiful view of Castle Lake and trail way.

COLDWATER LAKE TRAIL- Coldwater recreation area is on the State Route 504. Coldwater lake natural habitat gives people water and fishing access. It’s trail access is a .6 miles interpretive trail giving close views of Coldwater Lake.

ECO PARK RESORT- is located at the 24 mile marker along State Route 504. Eco Park Resort provides access to horse and hiking trails, comfortable camping space, and a beautiful view of the country.

ELK BENCH TRAIL #221- is located at the Coldwater Ridge Visitor Center. Elk Bench Trail is a trail head that offer a nice stroll through a 1 mile hiking trail.

MOUNT MARGARET BACKCOUNTRY- is located on State Route 504 and is a popular among hikers. The trails in the back-country lead to clear lakes, steep ridges, narrow trail heads, and flowered back country.

MOUNT SAINT HELEN’S WILDLIFE AREA- The Mount St. Helen’s Wildlife Area, in the Toutle valley, provides areas for hiking, horseback riding, bicycling, and wildlife viewing. The area offers a short trail at the end of Sediment Dam Road leads to the dam overlook.
